How I LIVE UNITED
My name is Linda, and I am a Senior HR Assistant in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. I consider myself an optimist and try to look on the bright side of life. I am extremely thankful for what I have and what I can in turn give to others.
I feel education is a very important part of our lives. I have experienced what a good education can do to help one lead a successful and happy life. That’s why I volunteered to mentor school age children who needed just a little “extra guidance” from someone besides their families, to work through some of their problems and concerns. A half hour of my life, once a week, was a small price to pay for the warm reception I received at our weekly visit. I know I made a difference in a few children’s lives, however big or small.
There is no price you can put on satisfaction—satisfaction in making a difference in the lives of others as well as your own. I like to think that my volunteerism has made a difference. I know that my life has been richer because of the volunteer work I have done, and I hope that it continues to grow as I continue my volunteer voyage.
Being involved in the community and the lives of those we meet along the way is a priceless gift – a gift we can freely give to others. I have always loved helping people and I am sure I will be helping others as long as I can.
I want to “LIVE UNITED” the rest of my life. I want to make a difference!! |
